God is Love 💛

I know what it means to have a Godly love for your partner or for any person, in fact.

People often say they want to be with someone who is God-fearing. But what does that really mean?

If you love God, how would you treat Him? If God lives within you, how would you treat yourself? Would you lie to yourself or to Him? Would you give up on something He believed in, or would you give up on something you believe in?

If God is love and we are of God, why don't we operate in love?

I feel like when we operate in the love of God and in love for ourselves, that naturally transfers into how we love others. If you show discipline, consideration, consistency, and devotion to God and to yourself, it becomes easier to show those same qualities to other people.

As RuPaul said, "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?"

Most of us say we love God, but we're missing the connection between loving God and loving ourselves. If God is within us, why don't we love ourselves, respect ourselves, and show up for ourselves the way we try to show up for Him?

I'm not saying we're on the same level as God, but I do believe we need to be kinder to ourselves and hold ourselves to a higher standard.

I feel like if more people embraced that mindset, it would help the world as a whole. People would feel more complete and stop seeking validation from others instead of trusting what God already says about them.
